"A big girl's blouse" có blouse là áo cánh của nữ -> nghĩa là người đàn ông yếu đuối, hèn nhát.

@LilMissMystic also shared her thoughts tweeting “I’m usually a big girl’s blouse (literally and figuratively), who jumps higher than an athlete (vận động viên) when someone creeps up behind me, but I didn’t think that the clips from “Haunted Hospitals” were scary at all."
Maybe he is trying to be “his own man” after four years of behaving (hành xử) like a big girl’s blouse. If so, I endorse it.
And in 2007, when Gordon Brown was tipped to be on the verge of calling a general election (bầu cử) in an era before the Fixed-Term Parliaments Act, he reportedly told a fringe meeting at the Conservative party conference (hội nghị) in Blackpool that if Brown didn’t act: “We will say he’s wimped out, we will say he’s a big girl’s blouse.”
Using the phrase “great big girl’s blouse” as an insult (câu chửi) in 2019 is unacceptable. So why am I – a blouse-wearing woman – not surprised to read that our Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, used this outdated (lỗi thời) term to try and diminish his male opposition?
