"Dog’s dinner" = bữa tối của chó -> nghĩa là mớ hỗn độn, lộn xộn.

Ví dụ
Judy d’Arcy Thompson, chair of the Stray Defence Association, called the first section of cycle path on Otley Road, which has been widely criticised (chỉ trích) for its design, “a dog’s dinner”.

And writer Catherine Jones posted: "This #PlatinumJubilee thingy on ITV looks like a right dog's dinner. Is it live or isn't it? Are we going to have adverts inflicted (đòn giáng) on us every 10 minutes? And why the hell is Tom Cruise involved?"

An MP has described proposed electoral boundary changes facing his constituency (khu vực bầu cử) as "a real dog's dinner". Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown said while it was inevitable he would face some changes, he "didn't quite expect this amount of radical change".

I’m back, and can report the covers firmly stapled to the wet turf at Old Trafford as Lancashire chew on a dog’s dinner of a batting display.
