"The casting couch" nghĩa là gì?

"The casting couch" = giường thử vai -> nghĩa là người có địa vị, chức vụ thấp phải làm tình với cấp trên để thăng tiến trong công việc.

At 30, Anshika has appeared in more than a dozen films, but the wide eyed wonder (thắc mắc) that accompanied her foray into Bollywood is a thing of the past. "In the film industry, there's both nepotism (ưu đãi người nhà) and the casting couch," she explains. "Nepotism is for the rich. For us - there's the couch."
Bollywood is no stranger to stories of sexual harassment (quấy rối). The #MeToo movement prompted (thúc đẩy) several senior actors to speak out on trading (trao đổi) sexual favours for roles. But Anshika's account brings in a less discussed aspect of the casting couch in the Indian film industry – the vulnerability of marginalised (bị cho là yếu thế) women.
The menace (mối đe dọa) of the casting couch has been troubling almost every industry. There are been several stars from Bollywood and Hollywood who have opened up on suffering from the casting couch. Even the TV industry is not deprived of it.
During his appearance on CNN's Now Showing, Ram Charan stated that it is scary to hear about the casting couch as he has almost 5 sisters in the same field (lĩnh vực). The RRR actor was then quoted saying, "I am not talking particularly about her (Sri Reddy). But overall, to hear this word anywhere, in any industry — whether in politics or business industry — doesn’t sound right to anyone. Nobody would encourage it, especially when I have five of my sisters in the same field, I would personally not want to pursue it or witness such a disaster (thảm họa) in the industry."
