"The King's English" = tiếng Anh của nhà Vua -> nghĩa là tiếng Anh tiêu chuẩn, được người Anh có học thức dùng
Ví dụ
Senior barristers (luật sư) with the title Queen’s Counsel have been instantly transmuted (chuyển đổi) from QC to KC. It is again polite to use the King’s English, and not to breach the King’s peace especially when travelling on the King’s highway.
Take Britain, for instance. A survey shows that it is generally believed that 20% of the population is black when the actual (thực tế) figure is 3%; 5% are supposed transgender as opposed to 0.5% in reality; 10% bisexual v 1.3%; 15% gay or lesbian v 1.8%; 15% Muslim v 4%; and 20% vegetarian or vegan when the actual number is 4%. And yet we are all made to bow to the demands of the relatively few in all walks of everyday life ranging from restaurant menus to the King’s English.
And speakers of Received Pronunciation, the poshest (sang trọng) and most socially prestigious (thanh thế) accent, will have to aspire to Charles's vowels and diphthongs once the Queen's English becomes the King's English.
English is no longer the King’s English, and the realm ruled over by that personage (người có vai vế) can lay no legitimate claim to it.
