"Humpty Dumptyism" nghĩa là gì?

"Humpty Dumptyism" = chủ nghĩa Humpty Dumpty -> nghĩa là cố tình hiểu sai, dùng sai ý nghĩa của từ, cụm từ hay bài báo để phục vụ mục đích cá nhân. Từ này có nguồn gốc từ nhân vật Humpty Dumpty trong cuốn tiểu thuyết Through the Looking-Glass của tác giả Lewis Carroll, nhân vật này có câu thoại: 'nghĩa của từ tao nói phụ thuộc vào tao muốn nó có nghĩa như nào'.

The social sciences are full of Humpty Dumptyisms – words that you are pretty sure mean one thing but, under examination (xem xét), appear to mean something quite different to the people who are using them.

Take, for instance, the concept of ‘racial resentment’ that has been doing the rounds of Twitter, including the finding that white evangelical (người theo phái Phúc âm) Christians score particularly highly on measures of this construct.
