"Yellow-dog Democrat" nghĩa là gì?

"Yellow-dog Democrat" = chó vàng dân chủ -> nghĩa là người ủng hộ cuồng nhiệt đảng Dân chủ, không bỏ phiếu cho bất kỳ ứng cử viên nào thuộc đảng Cộng hòa.

I mean, the idea of like a yellow dog Democrat comes from this deep sectional (cục bộ) heritage that's born of the aftermath (hậu quả) Civil War, civil rights, all that stuff.
“I was a ‘yellow dog Democrat’ for many years because I did follow my father, I followed his lead,” Mendoza said.
