"Third-rate burglary" nghĩa là gì?

"Third-rate burglary" = trộm cắp hạng ba -> nghĩa là cách thư ký báo chí của Tổng thống Richard Nixon gọi vụ đột nhập Watergate.

In a 1973 Watergate hearing (phiên tòa), the question about the president’s knowledge was asked by Sen. Howard Baker to White House counsel John Dean. Essentially, it was whether Nixon knew about the plan to break in to the Democratic Party’s offices, the so-called “third-rate burglary.”
It broke out on June 17, 1972, when police caught five men breaking (đột nhập) into the Democratic National Committee's offices in the Watergate complex in Washington D.C., an incident described by Nixon's Press Secretary Ron Ziegler as "a third-rate burglary attempt."
As The Post’s assistant managing editor for metropolitan (chính quốc) news, Mr. Rosenfeld directly supervised Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein as they mined secretive sources in their follow-the-money unraveling of the Watergate break-in, which President Richard M. Nixon’s press secretary had described as a “third-rate burglary attempt” and which led to Mr. Nixon’s resignation in 1974.
