"An assumed name" nghĩa là gì?

"An assumed name" có assumed là cho rằng, thừa nhận -> từ này nghĩa là tên khác để che giấu thân phận, hoặc tên doanh nghiệp dùng để làm ăn, khác với tên đã đăng ký, còn được gọi là DBA (doing business as).

Ví dụ
In general, an assumed name is a name used by an entity (thực thể) to do business that is not that entity’s legal name. (Because assumed names are conventionally (theo quy ước) indicated in legal documents with the phrase “doing business as” or the acronym “d/b/a”, they are informally referred to as “DBAs”.

Prior to recent statutory (theo luật) changes, North Carolina law required entities engaging in business under an assumed name to file a “Certificate of Assumed Name” with the register of deeds in the county or counties in which the entity engaged in business.

Filing an Assumed Business Name Certificate does not confer any exclusive rights to the use of an assumed name in North Carolina. If exclusive use of a name is a priority (ưu tiên), please contact your attorney (người thụ ủy) contact at Poyner Spruill to discuss other options.
