Ví dụ
The famous invention (phát minh) of the Bessemer Process paved the way for the mass production of steel, making it one of the world's biggest industries. Now steel is used in the creation of everything from bridges to skyscrapers (nhà chọc trời).
Steel from the Bessemer process was also used to produce wrought (rèn) iron by the Aston process but because of improvements in the quality of mild steel (and the high cost of wrought iron) steel eventually totally displaced wrought iron and the last wrought iron manufacturing (sản xuất) plant in the world (in Bolton , UK) closed in 1973.
The Bessemer process was the first industrial process to be established for the huge production of steel before the open hearth furnace (lò luyện kim) was developed. The process was relatively inexpensive and made steel from molten pig iron.
