"Chequebook journalism" = nhà báo sổ séc -> nghĩa là trả nhiều tiền để được đăng độc quyền tư liệu cá nhân lên báo.

Mr Markson acknowledges that one of the main pieces of criticism (chỉ trích) directed tmowards chequebook journalism is that the story could be compromised, the journalist’s editorial independence bought off.

Dr Fernandez said chequebook journalism could occasionally be justified (chính đáng) if the amount paid and any terms of agreement were open for the reader or viewer to make an informed judgment about the content of the interview.
