"Kitchen cabinet" có cabinet là nội các, chính phủ -> nghĩa là nhóm cố vấn không chính thức của tổng thống, khác với các thành viên chính thức của nội các.

A former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, is set to replace Mamman Daura as the head of the kitchen cabinet for the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when sworn-in on May 29. Akande, a political associate (đồng minh) of the President-elect, was the Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in 2013, when the party was formed.
Members of the kitchen cabinet are the confidants (bạn tâm tình) of the President, who help the President to take decisions outside the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
But Mr. Sani said: “Magu is a victim of the civil war between in the President’s kitchen cabinet. It is high time the President stood his feet to stop power blocs (khối) who are desirous (khát khao) of undermining (hủy hoại) and subverting (lật đổ) his efforts.”
The phrase "kitchen cabinet" dates back to the early 1800s when President Andrew Jackson used the term to describe his unofficial advisors, a group of close friends and political allies he consulted (tham khảo) for advice and counsel on a wide range of issues. This unofficial group of advisors became commonly referred to as the President's "kitchen cabinet" and the phrase eventually caught on to refer to informal advisors in any area.
