"Sunset law" nghĩa là gì?

"Sunset law" = luật hoàng hôn -> nghĩa là điều luật sẽ tự động chấm dứt một cơ quan, bộ luật hoặc chương trình chính phủ không đạt được chấp thuận của cơ quan lập pháp sau một khoảng thời gian nhất định.

That attempt (phương pháp) ultimately failed, however, when Commonwealth Court ruled Thornburgh lacked the authority to privatize (tư nhân hóa) liquor sales even though the Liquor Control Board would soon expire under the old Sunset Law.
A sunset provision, or sunset law, is a clause in a statute (đạo luật) or regulation that expires automatically on a specified date. A sunset provision provides for an automatic repeal of the entire or sections of the law once that sunset date is reached.
Many more such events can be cited. My grandmother, Punyalata Chakraborty, once narrated a story from the days when under the “Sunset Law”, the Government confiscated (tịch thu) and auctioned (đấu giá) a land if revenue was not paid before sunset on a specified date.
My experience in Tennessee left me with a view of sunset laws less cynical (hoài nghi) than that of many people in public administration.
