Such a phenomenon (hiện tượng) has a scientific name: superfecundation. There are two types of superfecundation: heteropaternal superfecundation and homopaternal superfecundation. If you know at least some basic Latin, you will be able to guess that heteropaternal superfecundation is the type of fertilization (thụ thai) of two different ova (tế bào trứng) by two different men and homopaternal superfecundation refers to fertilization of two different ova by one man. Even though the heteropaternal type of superfecundation is kind of a form of atypical twinning, still the babies are half-siblings by blood.
In a case of disputed paternity (quan hệ cha con) to a pair of male twins, the results suggested that the twins had different biological fathers, a phenomenon known as heteropaternal superfecundation. Heteropaternal superfecundation is rarely (hiếm khi thấy) observed among humans, although it has been reported to appear as often as in 2.4% of dizygotic (trứng thụ tinh kép) twin births. The present case is the first one observed by our section among Danish cases of disputed paternity.
There are a few times when twins can be born with the same mother and different fathers. This is called heteropaternal superfecundation (heteropaternal superfecundation).
