Bull traps occur during periods of market uncertainty (bất ổn) or when false information is circulating about a particular asset (tài sản). It's called a bull "trap" because traders who are none the wiser are made to believe that a declining (giảm giá) asset is actually on the rise. This false sense of security can lead to heavy losses.

As with a lot of things in trading, identifying (nhận ra) a bull trap can be difficult. However, the best way to avoid bull traps is to notice warning signs in advance—such as low volume breakouts. We'll discuss this further below.

CryptoWhales, a major influencer and crypto investor, pointed to the fact that one of the biggest whales is dumping off BTC. According to him, the recent upward trend in BTC is a bull trap is exit liquidity for many whales.

Accordingly, we don't usually enter directionally bullish (làm tăng giá cổ phần) set-ups relying on breakout (price action breaking above a critical resistance zone) price structures. The market could use them to draw investors into a possible bull trap (significant rejection of buying momentum).
